What's a n00b?

Good afternoon gentlemen,

My name is Michael I'm 27 and have owned a 1991 BRG Miata for around 5 years. I've been lurking around here for at least that long and have finally gotten off my ass and joined. I am a student and also maintain 2-3 jobs, depending on the time of year.

During high school and shortly afterwards I owned a fairly lightly modified first generation DSM. It seems they are quite popular around these parts. That being said, a friend owned an early 1.6 NA Miata that he put an almost as early BEGi kit on. If I remember correctly it had the stock TD05H-14B from a 1G DSM. Even with three people in the car, it was like a goddamn rocket powered go-kart. Therefore, when I had the opportunity to pick up a very low mileage Miata, I jumped.

Like I said earlier, I am a student and therefore perpetually broke, so please do not expect a fast-paced build thread. Goals for the car are modest, better suspension, stiffer chassis, decent stereo, 200-235 WHP and solid reliability. I will be posting the start of a build thread presently.

I live in Indianapolis, in the Broad Ripple neighborhood. It looks as if at least three other people live in Indianapolis, thenuge (Fountain Square), concealer404 (Greenwood) and a third member that I have forgotten. I would love to get together sometime for another ride in a turbo Miata.

Let us see here:

Proves decent mastery of the English language :winner:
Doesn't ask repetitive stupid questions :winner:
Owns digital camera and can take in focus pictures :winner:

Anything I have forgotten?

And of course in my smart ass first post, I fail to be able to properly insert an image...

Doing it right.

Godammit, I type the long ass intro to my build thread and get logged out when I hit preview post. Finding beer immediately.

Edit: And saving it as a fucking word document next time...

It's good to see another Hoosier on board. You have some good people in your area.
Also, check the little box that keeps you logged in under your user name and password.

18psi: My girlfriend has two 14 year old Persians.

ThePass: My girlfriend at the time, who was sitting on my lap in the passenger seat, still thinks that boner was her doing.

Monk: In retrospect, I think I may have used one of the pages that was open before I registered and logged in to write the post. N00b mistake, still unhappy about it.

Someone needs to introduce themselves as a noob and ask what eggplant means. Because I still don't know that reference. :crx:

rleete 03-18-2015 06:23 PM

Comes from "like talking to an eggplant". As in, dense as a rock; unable or unwilling to listen to constructive criticism.

Eggplant: edible vegetable. Purple in color. Occasionally used as a sex toy. And where did the question about an eggplant come from?

It's been an interesting week n00b-wise. Stick around for a while. You'll see.
Moving to your build thread now...

Ah see... I knew I'd learn useful stuff here! (I dunno I thought an eggplant would be too squishy for much usefulness there!)
Ahoy from one n00b to another ;)

I think your eggplants may be overripe. Pick 'em earlier.

Thanks Brain.
