Default 94-95 Megasquirt on 96 Miata

Sorry if this has already been asked, I've tried searching and couldn't really find a clear answer

So I ended up getting a really good deal on a bunch of turbo parts, and I got a Megasquirt PnP 2, however it came out of a 94 Miata. I have a 96, so mine is OBD2, and from what I can tell, the OBD1 and OBD2 NA Miatas have a different ECU harness. So what I'm wondering is would it be possible to just modify the harness and run the OBD1 megasquirt, or would I have to get a whole new ECU?

Also any write-ups or information on how to modify the harness (if possible) would be great

This question (X year PNP into Y year chassis) has been asked here many times. It is theoretically possible, but it is also a bad idea. You will be much better off selling what you have and buying the proper PNP box for the chassis you have. Modifying an stock harness is just asking for trouble.

Mod parent up. 90-93 to 94-95 is doable, 90-95 to 96-97 is a lot more involved and there's always the possibility of destroying the ECU in the process just by making a mistake on a single wire.
