94 FMII Link ecu to MS pnp

Going to switch my 94 fmII turbo, 550cc injectors, wiseco pistons, carillo rods, and LINK ECU to a Mega Squirt PNP tomorrow....any helpful advice with this cross over?

take hammer to LINK afterward for greater satisfaction.

get a wideband if you don't have one.

cjernigan 01-25-2008 09:07 PM

Follow the manual, don't rush anything, you're moving up in the world.

sweetyx991 01-25-2008 10:19 PM

yes to the hammer

the link has caused me soo much greif...not to mention the ridiculous amounts of hrs and money to keep it working.

I have a wideband...glad to have that decision reinforced.

wideband

on the 6 stripped wire wideband, do i connect the analog out 1 or 2 to pin 10?

richard_ha 01-26-2008 04:50 PM

If its the LC-1, its analogue 2, the brown wire, to wire 10.

sweetyx991 01-26-2008 08:18 PM

it is the LC1. thanks.

cjernigan 01-26-2008 08:21 PM

It is recommended that you program the LC1 using your computer for 10-20:1 AFR = 1-5volts. Then in configurator set it up as LC1 linear. You should do this for the analog 2 as previously suggested.
Or you can leave it as setup default, just make sure to set it up in configurator and megatune as default. DIYautotune recommends the linear settings.

ok. any suggestions on fuel injectors settings for inital start up? I have RC 550cc.

cjernigan 01-26-2008 08:54 PM

6.0 req fuel and let me find my cranking PWs.

sweetyx991 01-26-2008 09:00 PM

Awesome. I think cranking PWs was around 2.5...? not sure.

cjernigan 01-26-2008 09:09 PM

1 Attachment(s)
It's different for every temp of course:
Attachment 214688

Try these, maybe take off .2-.4 ms then add fuel until it's perfect so you know you're not flooding it. Your RC's might flow more or less fuel then my densos.

sweetyx991 01-26-2008 09:13 PM

i do appreciate. should i leave my stock O2 sensor in for the first start up or go ahead and set my LC1? is it as lengthy to calibrate the LC1 as they describe?

cjernigan 01-26-2008 09:15 PM

I would install the LC1, get the install over with. Shouldn't be hard to calibrate it if you read the manual. Good luck.

sweetyx991 01-26-2008 09:18 PM

thanks. a bunch lol. i hope my first experience with an MS is a good one.

sweetyx991 01-27-2008 05:46 PM

I have the MSPNP fully installed now. Have my LC1 Wideband connected and working properly. I used the fuel numbers above. I can not get it to start...getting good reads on all gauges in megatune. Any suggestions onto where i should start? Do i need to change any inital configurations to support the turbo on first start up? Stupid questions i know, but begginer tuner here.

cjernigan 01-27-2008 06:09 PM

Read the manual, set up the reqfuel and everything appropriately. Lower the cranking pw's, you're probably flooding it. Then raise the PW value for the temp the engine is at by .1 at a time until it starts.

sweetyx991 01-28-2008 01:38 PM

does megatune measure spark input or output? Is it visible and megalog? I dont appear to be getting any spark, but am unsure.

fourwhls 01-28-2008 02:29 PM

Hopefully you wont have this issue, but double check your wiring.

I too went from a Link to MSPNP. I had a ton of issues, one being that I didn't convert the wiring back to stock correctly. Take your time and go back through the Link install manual one step at a time.
