Did you invert the primary opto input as per the 'extra' instructions for 4/2 CAS? Your problem sounds like the one I had a few weeks ago when I overlooked that step. With the stimulator it would only sync if I flipped the dip switch to invert the primary trigger.

I think so, but could you please elaborate on this for me?

I'm willing to bet your problem is input-circuit specific and swapping the processor and firmware to MS1 isn't gonna fix that. But sure, go ahead I guess....

I know it comes off like I'm just giving up, and in a way I am slightly. Having build a completely successful MS1 before now and having the issues I am with MS2, it just seems easier to me to do this, but I'm not giving up yet. I'm gonna keep trying things because I don't like starting a project and giving up on it.

I will get this......

You can search for my original posts for more info, but the gist of it is the standard MS/MSII build instructions use the optocoupler on the tach input in a an inverting configuration. The 4/2 CAS instructions change that around so it is non-inverting, like the secondary tach input. They both need to match to get sync.

Well I got it!

First off I want to thank patsmx5 and kday for your help and input, I really do appreciate it guys.

I also now feel like a huge dumbass. My problem the whole time was I use a 4.7k resistor between leg 1 of the optoisolator and +5V instead of a 470ohm. DOH!

Anyways, the car runs now but idles crazy high. I also am slightly worried I could have damaged my coils in all this. I was wondering if anyone could post up their coil settings (cranking dwell, running dwell, etc.) and their idle valve settings. I have a 95 so settings for a 94+ would be preferable.

Again, I want to thank everyone for putting up with me during this. I may start another thread with new MSII questions though, I'm a little lost with EAE and such.
