AEM uego and MS, different readings
https://www.miataturbo.net/forum/t28005/
Went here followed all insructions yet no matter what I change the values to, under lambda sensor. (even as high as 21) it still doesn't get closer to the same) It's about 2 afr apart The AEM will read 13 at idle where as the MS shows 15.. What should I try? |
What is the directory of the file you are editing?
|
I still haven't gotten my afr's to match all the way. They match perfectly at idle and cruise but in boost MS reads 2 full points leaner.
I'm getting an LC1. __________________ Best Car Insurance | Auto Protection Today | FREE Trade-In Quote |
I've tried my luck with the lc-1 and man it's a pita IMHO I suck So it might be the better route.. Anyway on to the other deal.\Program Files\MegaSquirt\MegaTune2.25\mtCfg\ then the msns-extra.ini
now when my car is off it slowly starts at 13 and works its way to 17 then the -- I haven't tried disconnecting it from the MS to see what it does so maybe thats my best bet to finding something |
they all do the whole "13 to 17' when the car is turned off. Is it hooked up via serial or analogue port?
|
Thats good to know
|
serial for sure white wire to existing o2 wire correct?
|
I mean analogue sorry
|
Sorry for the multiple posts my edit button seems to crash my internet don't know why but it does anyway, Which AFR reading is going to be the correct one should I worry just about how the guage is reading or the MS I know if they were the same it would be ideal.
|
Pretty sure the one the gauge is showing is the more "correct" one.
|
ok Soo should I be worring about the noise so to speak... aka the difference? or should i tune based on the gauges afr?
|
Definitely tune according to the AEM gauge. It matched the Dyno afr's perfectly.

Thought I'd bump this with a little rant. I noticed my gauge was not matching the output in megatune. I took some pictures of the gauge and the MS to see what the discrepancies looked like. In the 14 pictures I took the gauges matched in 1 picture. In 4 pictures the gauge was reading higher than megatune. In the other 9 pictures megatune was reading higher than the gauge. There doesn't seem to be any kinda of correlation to one being higher than the other. Awesome.
A couple 12.4 afr shots... Attachment 204393 Attachment 204394 The pictures: gauge........megatune...difference 11.5..........11.8..........-0.3 11.7..........11.4..........0.3 12.1..........11.7.......... 0.4 12.2..........12.0.......... 0.2 12.4..........11.5.......... 0.9 12.4..........13.6.......... -1.2 12.7..........12.3.......... 0.4 13.2..........12.5.......... 0.7 13.6..........13.5..........0.1 13.7..........13.4.......... 0.3 14.0..........14.0..........0 14.6..........15.2..........-0.6 15.4..........15.7..........-0.3 15.6..........15.5.......... 0.1 The gauge worked perfectly until the last month or so. I'm going to check over all my connections, but the wiring was actually done by Joe so I don't see how that could possibly be the issue. :wavey: |
Thats the way the AEM works with the MS unfortunately. The reason why im switching out my AEM for an LC-1 when the MSII protoboard gets up and going.
|
Damn and I was just thinking about ditching the LC1 and getting an AEM... Was taking a 10-100 the other night with a jegs catalog and found for 20$ more than what I paid for the LC1 I could get a fucking gauge too..
AEM 6-in-1 Gauge-Type Wideband UEGO Controller - JEGS So the UEGO sucks even more dog shit with megasquirt than an LC1? :( |

pdexta, the MS and AEM are grounding to the same spot? I've installed two AEM and after fooling with the formula and converting to A/F I never had an issue with them reading "close enough"
