Default Can I use a MS2 Enhanced 04-05MSM in my 1997 1.8?

Hi all,

I have found a megasquirt for sale here in the U.K. and I'm wondering if anyone can confirm that it will work with my car?

Its a MS2 Enhanced, built by Revenant at MSLabs
Its not a plug and play, is in a black metal box and has a label that reads:
"MS LABS
MS2 ENHANCED ECU
Mazda Miata 04-05MSM
S/N: 10201"

It doesn't come with a pigtail so this will need to be made by moi

Can anyone confirm that this (with a pigtail to plug into my stock harness) work with my 1997 1.8 UK MX5?
If so does anyone know how hard/easy the pigtails are to build?
Im acquiring parts (slowly) for a turbo build and I should hope that this megasquirt will do the job just fine?

Thank you

Thank you

You could PM @Reverant and ask him. Maybe buy a new pigtail.

Thanks Bahurd

I have messaged Reverant - fingers crossed for a reply

In the meantime, if anyone knows for sure, it would be great to hear from you

On Miata.net someone kindly suggested that it is unlikely to work as the MK1 miatas "...[use the] CAS for rpm reading while 99 and later [use the] cam and crank signal."
Which would seem to make sense...

Rewiring to circumnavigate this issue, I imagine, would be difficult/impossible...?

If you need to build the boomslang harness from scratch there is no reason why it can not work on an earlier year miata. The cam/crank sensor verse the CAS is not an issue. You just change that in your tune. Now saying that I have zero idea how Reverant did the wiring on his MS2 Enhanced.
