Default Car running on 3 cylinders after rev limiter

Hey Guys after playing with some more boost of my TD04 I stumbled on the following problem.

The revlimiter was put on spark cut only because my inner rices loves sparkles, flames and loud noises. When I upped the boost it would run on 3 cylinders for a few seconds. Afterwards it would continue as if nothing happened. Afterwards I searched the forums and sadly the only topic I found was this one.
https://www.miataturbo.net/engine-pe...limiter-71308/

The solution that should help was add fuel cut... So I add fuel cut and sadly it still remained. My symptoms are the exact same as in the previous topic mentioned above. Afterwards I tried the following.
  1. Fuel cut only, did not work
  2. Progressive timing retard, did not work
  3. Timing retard, did not work
  4. Progressive Fuel cut, did not work
  5. Playing around with the VE table, did not work
  6. Lowering the boost, sadly did work yet we all know this is not an acceptable solution!
The big problem is that it does not happen all the time, so it is hard to locate to a specific cylinder.

After all the software changes I thought it might be faulty hardware, so I tried the following
  1. New spark plugs.. A LOT of new sparkplugs BKR7E11
  2. Different gaps for those different sparkplugs, ranging from 0.5-1.1
  3. Different coils, I run toyota COPs
  4. Different Injectors, this one was my last hope
So the problem still exist and I have only 1 idea left. Playing around with the maximum amount of ignition retard during the rev limiter.. I completely forgot about that.

Maybe you guys have some extra Idea's Or know of another solution. I'll update this thread tomorrow if playing around with the maximum retard helps.

Hmm no replies... Well I'll drop an update.

Tried the following things:
- I played with maximum ignition retard and it did not make a difference.
- I dropped the boost just before revlimiter to wastegate pressure, this made the biggest difference, so it is fouling the plugs however I can't seem to not foul the plugs.

What is the standard ignition retard number people use around here?
