Computer Crashed!!!
my harddrive is DEAD... on a friends computer now.
When i get a new hard drive and re-install megatune and configure the car will i be able to just plug into my ecu and get my current msq file?? im crying a little bit on the inside for all the stuff i lost :vash: |
yes
|
yep, just open MT, file, save, done
|
I believe the proper command in Megatune is 'fetch from ecu'.
|
It fetches all the settings when you go to File -> Save. The Fetch from ECU command is for reverting to setting in the ECU when you have changed settings in MegaTune but not burned them to the ECU.
|
Thanks for the clarification Matt.

go to microsoft.com and download the "sync toy" power tool. schedule it to synch with another computer every week and you wont have this problem. :)

So what does it fetch from when I open an MSQ on my desktop with no MS connected, but tell it not to be in offline mode and then save changes?

Synctoy is a great program btw, if you have two large drives in your computer but dont want to setup a raid 1, then its great to back shit up. |
Haha my miata info is the least of my concerns. All that shit is on the interweb
But i use sync toy its a nice little app. |

I don't think it fetches from anything, just saves the changes. If it fetched from anything, you'd be in trouble as the settings wouldn't be safe to use at all.

honestly... the thing im crying about the most is all my bookmarked threads from this website, other awesome builts, parts sites, and every other little interesting website i had saved. Is there a way to save your bookmarks somewhere else so you dont loose them? seriously.... now i have to search for alll the cool shit i found.
|
Yeah, you can burn all your bookmarks to a cd.
Better yet id recommend that you get a large(200+gig) external hard drive and just save everything you care about on that. Worry free |
