connecting to Megasquirt over Wifi
Thought I'd mention that I've got the Megasquirt working over Wifi. I previously used a bluetooth module to connect to Tunerstudio, but I wanted to use RealDash on the iPad because of the nice graphics .
Since Apple doesn't allow bluetooth, you need to use Wifi, hence the ESP8266.
The ESP8266 is a bit annoying to program (as are the bluetooth modules actually), but once programmed, they work flawlessly
In the video only voltage gives a reading as that's the only wire that's connected
This obviously works with Tunerstudio on a PC/Mac/Android as well

I would love some more details on how you set this up. The module is cheap and I would love to eliminate the extra USB socket in my dash. I can handle the programming. Where are you drawing power from? Any tips on getting it recognized by tuner studio as a serial device?

I install it inside the case and make a slot so the antenna sticks out. The ESP8266 operates on 3.3V so you need a voltage regulator.
Also made a little thingy that goes between the programmer and the ESP8266. Makes it super simple to reset / flash the module .
