DIYPNP DB15 Connections

2 Attachment(s)
I purchased one of the enhanced MS2/DIYPNP from Brain and Rev during this group buy:

https://www.miataturbo.net/ms-labs-miata-accessories-89/99-00-01-05-msm-megasquirt-ms2-diypnp-enhanced-group-buy-50791/

And I have the DB15 connector with these wires:

https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1336510103

Red, Blue, Yellow, White, Purple, Grey, Brown and Green

I know that the LC-1 wires into the first 4 wires, but I'm wondering what I need to connect to the Purple, Grey, Brown and Green wires?

For reference, here's the DB15 excel spreadsheet for my unit:

1 12V YES
2 GND YES
3 SIGNAL GND YES
4 WIDEBAND YES
5 VREF (5V)
6 5V FOR DIY
7 SWITCH TABLES YES
8 FLEX FUEL
9 LAUNCH CONTROL
10 IGN C YES
11 IGN D YES
12 ANALOG KNOCK OUT
13 DIGITAL KNOCK IN
14 ALT MAP IN
15 RPM OUT/EBC OUT

I searched around through some of the relevant threads, but didn't find anything concrete; any help is greatly appreciated!

You don't need to connect them, they are optional. Just tape them away.

Awesome, thanks very much Rev!

Is there a pinout for this plug? Particularly for lc-1 connections as my wires are all black

Reverant 03-01-2013 04:05 PM

If your DIYPNP was built by Braineack, you need to consult with him.

Braineack 03-01-2013 04:12 PM

I would have wired it the same way, just without the color codes.

Dagger 03-01-2013 04:14 PM

Braineack, could you tell me which pins on the connector connect to which of the wires on the 6-wire lc-1?

Braineack 03-01-2013 04:27 PM

did I build you diypnp?

Dagger 03-01-2013 04:30 PM

No but I was hoping the pin connections were universal, if they are I assume I follow the connection numbers above and match with the wideband instructions? Also, will I need to connect a jumper or anything on my pnp2 unit or just change the settings in megatune?

Braineack 03-01-2013 04:40 PM

they arent, its however you populate the mainboard.

Reverant 03-02-2013 03:45 AM

Wait, is this a DIYPNP or an MSPNP2?

Dagger 03-02-2013 04:47 AM

It's a pnp2 straight from diy auto tune website. I just posted on here after getting tired of searching for info and getting nothing.

richyvrlimited 03-02-2013 05:51 AM

Have you thought of asking DIYAutotune? ;)

Edit: you can't have looked very hard.... http://www.megasquirtpnp.com/maindocs.htm

Dagger 03-02-2013 04:38 PM

I have asked them and I did look hard which is why I risked asking on this notoriously snippy forum :)

You say snipey, but you couldn't find what you were looking for in the manual for the ECU you bought, you deserve the sarcasm quite frankly.

I did 1 30 second google search and found what you wanted. Hardly difficult.

Dagger 03-02-2013 05:30 PM

It wasn't in the manual. Hence why I asked on here AFTER emailing DIYautotune but I knew I had seen that picture online before and I was trying to find it for ages, all I came up with was the basic versions of the manual or that pinout with only 1 label on it from some random supra info. I knew it was there but I couldn't find it and I know it shouldn't have been so difficult which was frustrating so I don't deserve the sarcasm when I'm just asking for help. No need for the attitude when you could have just said this:
