EasyTherm download?
I'm bringing up a new tuning laptop (an old IBM X31 but now with Win 7, 32bit), my old links for downloading and installing EasyTherm appear to be broken (as is the link on the DIYAutotune download page). Is there a current link for downloading the latest EasyTherm? (and will it run on Win 7)
And while I am at it, these are the numbers I have been using for my stock CLT sensor (for a 91 Miata, MSPNP9093), I see other numbers posted in various threads, is there a definitive value? I use: (temp in F) -4 16000 68 2450 140 580 |

Click on the EasyTherm link to download it. For the thermistor values, I have been using the rx7 defaults in EasyTherm which are *C............Resistance(Ohms) -20..........16200 20............2450 80.............320 I think that's right. |
Thanks, that link seems to install version 4f, I had been using 5.0. This link seemed to work (just found it in my records):
http://home.comcast.net/~whaussmann/...EasyTherm5.htm Also, my car never read well with the default RX7 numbers for CLT, I'll dig up where I got the ones I am using (though if anyone else has numbers they think are definitive that would be great). |
Nice, I didn't know about that. I have got to get around to testing the sensor values sometime.

Interesting, this version of Easytherm 5.0 installed fine, ran like it always did and the log says it wrote the .inc and s19 files but it does not. No errors but the files do not show in the project directory like they always did. Not sure why but it does not seem to be able to write the files in windows 7 (32bit).
If anyone else has this version (Easytherm 5.0) working properly on Win 7, let me know. Otherwise I will go find an XP machine and run everything from there. |
TunerStudio can be used in place of easytherm. Also it works fine in windows 7 and is much better than megatune. Just go the tools menu on TunerStudio and select calibrate thermistor.
edit: BTW i just checked and this only works for ms2. So i fail |
Thanks, I will go to TS eventually (and just pull the .inc files over and drop them in). I was going to start again with MT since that is what I know and then transition to TS once everything is working (I am not a fan of changing too much at once). I had hoped that since ET worked on Vista that it would on Win 7 but, though it seems to run, no joy - I cannot get it to actually write the files (no errors, no requests for permission... nothing out of the ordinary but no output).
I'll just grab an older OS and generate the s19 and inc files and then pull them over (I know MT works with Win 7).

I would just start using TS right now man. I haven't used MS since Brain was a baby until recently I MS2'd my CRX HF to be able to tune cruise lean as fawk. Having been intimately familiar with MT I decided to start using TS right away because thats what the cool people were doing. I can tell you that you will love it within the first 5 or so minutes and know where everything is in like 10 minutes. Its just much more intuitive. Like windows mobile vs iphone.

Yeah, I'll probably jump to TS this weekend though I understand for my MSPNP I still gotta get Easytherm running and move the INC files (back on an XP machine now and should have no problem - was just surprised that it behaved like it did on my Win 7 machine). Iphone? What's an Iphone? |
Figured out what was going on with Easytherm and Win 7. The files were being written to some virtual directory that was not visible to me in the normal directory. So ET thought everything was fine but Win 7 was isolating the output to keep me 'safe'.
Found them by viewing compatible files, fixed it by giving ET administrative rights (which it did not have for some reason, even though I installed it as an Admin). |
