Fan stalls car at idle
I've been chasing two problems, one being a hot restart which was resolved with an ASE taper down to 1, the second is sometimes the car stalls when the fan turns on.
Car is a 95 with MS3 and FM stage 2 fans (spal). I've been trying to mess with idle advance, but was wondering is someone could take a look at my log and tune?
The problem arose after the fan upgrade last year and I have just been dealing with it.
thanks,
Dave

MS3 under general settings has a fan tab that you can choose to increase the IACV duty % when the fan kicks on. For the normal fan you can modify that value to compensate. Then for the ac, you can figure out how much more IACV % you need when the AC kicks on and compensate the other fan there.

The Idle-up Duty % there & under A/C Idle up are the two things to mess with, I am also running Stage 2 Spal Fans from FM with no relays & I have it mostly under control, no stalling ever and the idle dips to 700ish when the a/c compressor cycles on and off.

Those values are definitely used in closed loop idle as well, I calculated the IAC Duty % to add to each setting by sitting in a parking lot and observing the IAC Duty % that the car reached when the idle stabilized with just 1 fan on, both fans on w/ A/C on, and with no fans on at 850rpm
Tune is attached, this is for an NB2 running on an MS3 Basic
Basically, Fan IAC Duty + A/C IAC Duty + (Closed Loop idle) Initial Value Duty % = Duty % to jump to when car enters closed loop idle, or one of the fans or both fans turn on
For me, 2.7 + 10.2 = 12.9 + 32.1 = ~45 IAC Duty % for 1k rpm stable idle

With your closed loop idle PID settings being basic & the slider being ~1600, its also likely that the setting is a bit too aggressive and the car tries to reach its target RPM way too quickly. My car stalled frequently when I had messed with my PID settings and sent the slider way up as well, I would tune your IAC Duty % Values first before changing the PID slider as your car may be fine with that sensitivity with the proper idle values plugged in.
