First MegaSquirt 3 datalog and msq
So last night :brain: got an MSQ file setup for MS3 without any conflicts. I then promptly stole it and got my car started on it.
Today I modified his msq with my timing settings and put in my fuel and spark tables. I then went out and burned them to my ms3. Car then started up after a few cranks and seemed to idle well. Next on my to-do list is to check and make sure my timing is set correctly and then work on startup settings and tune. Here are links to my datalog and MSQ files if anyone is interested in looking at them. Datalog MSQ file I take no responsibility if you use the MSQ and blow your motor. |
Nice :)
This is the first running installation from the first batch of MS3s released. Though I expect there will be some more after this weekend. |
damn. he used MY map...I would be running it today as well but I got called into work :(

link to thread on why MS3 is so awesome?

I was simply shooting to get the first Miata running on MS3. Knowing I most likely have the first running one on a car out of the production batch makes me feel even more special. I am going to go get myself a cookie.
Hopefully tonight and this weekend I get some road time on the car and can iron out some more bugs with it. Scott, it actually doesn't just have a 2-step, but has a 3-step launch with burnout mode. :skid: |
in for ms3 pnp.

I'll just consider mine running first cause he straight up loaded the damn MSQ i sent him ;)
I think Hustler would like the AFR safety system. |

Brain, when will you start accepting MS1's to be upgraded to MS3? :)

wtf.afr safety system? I don't really need that, but I'd like some more ve table accuracy. I guess there is nothing new for knock detection?

Edit: I'm also thinking about building a little circuit to convert the TXS output into something MS1 can use. Nothing fancy, just a little 555 timer similar to the one in the MSExtra hardware manual. In the event that it works, I'll post a write up. |
God, if I knew it'd take me this long to put in my new motor, I'd have waited for the MS3...so, uh, anyone wanna buy a MS2 daughter board?

Actually starting with MS2 there is software selectable knock input parameters. You could take a TXS knocklite and plug its digital output directly into the MS (at least in theory). Once I upgrade, I plan to test it out.

Daymn, I've been planning to do this for quite some time!! I've just been lazy scoping the output.
Got any specifics on the output? Cheers! The way I figure it, as long as it is outputting what it sounds like it is, at most the signal might need to be inverted and trigger a timer to hold the line low for a few hundred uS. |
