Default Ms2 ignition advance blipping

Hi, just got my car started and it runs fine except for the ignition advance keeps blipping every so often to like 28 degrees at idle. It only happens for a second so it only advances it a couple of degrees but i have no idea why it is. Included log and msq.

If you are using the Gslender code and timing its advancing at idle on its own its probably because of the timing adjustments that the gslenders code is doing at idle.

Did you update to this code or someone else do it? Be aware of new additions when you update firmware on the megasquirt

Dude you're using firmware with custom idle advance features, I strongly suggest you read the PDF manual that gslender kindly bothered to write on how to use the features!

To turn it off (the cause) -> Extended -> Idle Advance Settings

Alright i read the pdf. Some of it was quite over my head but im trying. I turned off the idle advance settings for now cuz my idle was really high and i couldn't figure out why. That stopped the blipping that i was talking about but my idle is still pretty high. I have the idle screw all the way out and my afr ratio is right where i want it. Something to do with the closed loop idle settings?

Mmm, I'd like some feedback on what part of the guide was "over ya head" and I've been thinking of writing a companion to help newbies tune a MX5 better using the firmware and get going quicker... like adding a section on idle valve testing, setting the idle screw correctly, plus how the enhancements help create a smooth idle... thoughts?
