So I'm stuck at a gas station 100 miles from home and my car won't start. I was tuning all the way here and everything was going great until I stopped for gas and when I turned the key back on I got a config error about pin PT1. I have an iPhone and my tuning laptop so I can't upload my msq but I could take pictures of it.
I didn't change anything when I stopped for gas.
Please help, I am stranded here!

How can I find a specific pin like that? And I think it's a fuel injector..... The tune I started was one from y8s somebody posted in my ms build thread if that helps.

if pt1 is injector 1 (i hate that there are different names for stuff)
and you're using a y8s-based map, then it's set up as an output for fan.
Advanced Engine
Output Port Settings
scroll down to PT1 V3 Inj 1
uncheck all the enable boxes
burn
power cycle (key off/on)
zoom.

You may want to (if you haven't) enter what you have set in the spreadsheet for your own reference and make sure all other settings are disabled or the equivalent.

You have my pinout spreadsheet, right? Do you have your MS wired up like my MS? If you've changed any settings, you may run into conflicts depending on what you change and what I had set up.

Thank you guys for your help! I would have been stuck at that gas station for a while trying to figure out what was wrong last night without your quick help.

A/C and fans are both wired to the right type of circuits inside the MS? I added TIP120 transistors to the output circuits inside the box to use the INJ1 and INJ2 outputs for fans.
Same thing for a/c control output.
I used those because that's what brainy had on hand.

definitely power cycle for changes to outputs or triggering.
Here is some info on the outputs.

You can basically replace the 2N2222A with a TIP120 for more current capability.
The way I wired mine, I was able to re-use some of the existing mounting holes. I'll go look up my notes and get back to you.

I see, well my proto area is completely filled with the alternator circuit, so hopefully I can reuse some of those existing mounting holes you speak of and still have room for my fan and AC circuit.
And do you have any ideas why my VSS doesn't seem to register? Is that another hardware thing I didn't do right or is there a software setting I just don't have right?

did you run VSS to the ms3x cam input? is the cam pullup jumper in place? it's JP7.
I didn't mess with my potentiometers so it could have been dumb luck.
and actually if you're only doing fans and a/c relay, you can use the 2n2222a just like the link above.
DIY sells a prepackaged kit to make it work but you may have to get creative to use it with the INJ1 and INJ2 outputs.

I did run the VSS to the ms3x cam input, though I will check that after work to make sure it is wired properly. I will also check the cam pullup jumper and see if I can find some info on the pots. If I remember right, you don't need a jumper on JP7 for a hall sensor but you do for anything else, right? What does the miata have? VR?
I will buy two of those kits, though I still don't know where I am going to install them, with my proto area being full of alternator and all. Can I follow some set of instructions for the MS1? I remember making fan and AC circuits for that, though I may have put them in the proto area. That was a long time ago.

I didnt use the proto area. Since you've got some time while the kits come in, I'll pull out my sketches and share them. I just haven't got around to it yet.
If you use the INJ mainboard outputs, you can put the components in random places on the main board.
