Help to improve a basemap (MS2)

Hi everybody,
I have an MS2 made by Reverant. Here are all the informations about my setup: stock internals 1.8l VVT engine (but VVT is not supported for the moment) MS2 Rx8 450cc injectors Rotrex C30-74 supercharger with Air/water intercooler Innovate LC1 wideband Racing Beat header and exhaust Flyin' Miata midpipe with high flow cat 10 PSI max at 7000rpm The idle is very nice and I have no problem when I drive it but as you can see on this video, I have some balks that comes from my A/F table and/or ignition table (those problems don't come from a slipping belt of my supercharger as I have written in the vid :nono: ). https://vimeo.com/58926964 The map I'm using is a basemap and I haven't touch it so I think it needs some changes. :brain: Here is the datalog I have made (car stopped): https://www.miataturbo.net/attachmen...ine=1361468528 You can download the log here: Free - Envoyez vos documents I don't know if it could change the numbers but I will do another log on the road this weekend. I don't want a super aggressive setup for my stock engine. Just something that work great on the road and on the track. What do you think of those changes? Do you have some advice about this? Arnauld, download TunerStudio and pay to upgrade to the best version. Then use VE Analyze Live (VEAL) to have the fuel table (VE) automatically tuned to match your target AFR table. All you need to do once VEAL is turned on is to drive your car around for a couple of hours and the program will tune your car correctly for fuel. It works very well and is very simple to use.
It will not tune spark. |

We have made some changes. Here are the new tables:

That's LEAN. I would target at least 11.8 at 140kPa.

Figured I'd toss in my $0.02 and show what I'm running too:

140kpa is only 5.6 psi. And it goes to 11.0 afr by 10 psi (170kpa). And that interpolates to 11.6 afr at 7.8 psi. Do you think that's a problem?

I have bought a Walbro 255lph fuel pump to help my injectors.
And I think I have found why I have the problems that you can see in the video. I have a lost sync problem that you can see on this log: Free - Envoyez vos documents The log sync reason is a 32 value. I have taken a look here: https://www.miataturbo.net/megasquir...reasons-43775/ 32 = Miata 99-00 - 0 cams seen My car is 04' and it worked without problem before the MS and it has only 61000km (37900 miles). I have checked the cam sensor and the wiring seems good. Do you know how can I fix this problem? Thanks ;) |
Does the sync loss always happen at about the same RPM? Can you grab it on a composite log?

The lost sync always happens on acceleration over 4000rpm but it doesn't happen at every acceleration. On light acceleration and under 4000rpm, there is no problem.
What is a composite log? You can find the datalog in the link above. ;) Edit: I don't think you can see the composite log without starting the sync error logger. I'm going to change the fuel pump because I don't want to make more WOT log without adding more fuel in high rpm. I will try to do a new log with this sync error logger, but the next step is to tune my fuel map (advice welcome) with the Walbro fuel pump before doing a new WOT log. |
Go to the diagnostics tab, and choose to save a composite log from there. Make it short.

I will do it after the mounting of the fuel pump and the tuning of my fuel map with the new fuel pump. What is the best solution to tune it right? |
Use Tunerstudio VE Analyze Live to autotune the fuel.

Yep, but I was refering to the fuel map.
The fuel target stays the same but I think I have to change the values in the VE table. I will use VEAnalyze to make it right but I think if I stay with the same VE table with the larger fuel pump, it will be way too rich at the beginning and I don't think it's a good idea for my catalyser. |
Unless the other pump was not working properly it should be just fine to just tune with VEAL. Set it to easy and it should adjust quickly.
