I have been searching for hours, reading posts for hours, read megasquirt websites, etc...I find pieces of information here and there, but nothing that ties everything together. I don't understand this:

I am trying to tune my car (fuel I guess-VE-haven't done anything with timing just using the PNP map) Why do I bother putting numbers into the AFR target table in MT yet have 0 in Controller step that basically disables and doesn't reference the target tables while I'm driving? I have just been driving the car, then going into MLV and running the analyzer against the same AFR target table "afrbins1". Is this right? I have gathered that it's not good to be in boost and have the controller step enabled (not set to 0) but at what point do I change controller step to something other than zero? And what do I change it to?

 

with the controller step size at 0 it won't do anything, in other words it won't try to adjust your fuel to hit the targets in your afr bin. If you've got a solid fuel map it's not really a big deal it's just there to make small adjustments. my step size is 1% and authority 5%
