MSPNP runs
So I threw in the MSPNP at Ben's urging (thanks, I need a kick now and then to get moving) with the stock injectors, and the wastegate disconnected from the flapper door on my newly installed system. It's loud as crap in my one-car garage with 3 solid walls and open downpipe (echo echo echo), but running pretty well for being a plug-in and pray type of attempt. AFM removed.
Aside from the battery being pretty drained (hasn't been started in almost a month), a couple little coolant leaks (fixed), and a rattling downpipe, it would seem that I'm almost there!

I let him slide tonight because it was storming out. miata + tornado =
TOMORROW one more black and red is going to the dark side. No excuses.
Hopefully we'll have enough injector to safely get WG boost levels. If not, we'll throw an FMU on there with his fully programmable ecu. Until he gets his 460s cleaned.

I'm going to give Midas a call as soon as they open to see if they can squeeze me in during the early morning to quickly attach my DP to the rest of the exhaust. It sure would be nicer to tweak the car when you don't have to wear earplugs.

would have to get the wire jam removed from the MIG gun first.
I did stitch up my exhaust myself though.
It's a Tony pipe, bolted to a test pipe, bolted an enthuza pipe that I cut then welded to my catback with a transition piece between. I also added a wb bung to the tony pipe and also I added a AIT bung in my throttle side pipe.
Now that I have a JIG saw, I could probably do an exhaust now. Maybe. When the wire jam is cleared out. With really big, ugly welds.

Alright, well, I have a new reason why I didn't make it up to Ben's today to get boost going.
I rushed home from work early today and buttoned up my undertray, triple-checked for leaks, and wired/setup the wideband. On the positive side, the wideband seems to be working quite well for $50 (thanks SoFlaRick). On the downside, open downpipes are loud. Loud enough to get a stern scolding from the local police officer directing traffic. I drive 5 ft. outside the apartment complex, and I get whistled to pull over, and told to turn around and go home, cause I was too loud.
Stupid "custom guy" wasn't at the exhaust shop today, so they're expecting me first thing in the morning to attach my downpipe to the rest of the exhaust.
I swear to you, I will get this boosted and tuned soon! This upcoming weekend is my last free weekend as a single man!

Much thanks to Ben for helping me get boosted last night (or more appropriately, early this morning)! Let me borrow some NB 1.8 injectors that had enough juice for wastegate pressure (~7-8psi) and get it roughly street-tuned on the MS. Lots more tuning to do, and I'll get up to bigger injectors soon, but it's badass. More to come later, but thought I'd share that after 8 months of tinkering with the idea of boost, my DIY setup works.

You really need to do something about that noisy intake. Sounds like a demonic hoover.
Otherwise, Ben's car is nice and quiet. Like damn near silent. It pulls pretty good, and AIT is in check for this level of boost.
I think we got most of the cruising cells tweaked out well. And the boost cells are "good enough" for now.
I think once we get your 440s and EBC in, your car is going to be a lot of fun.

Oh BTW
Wire Jam removed from MIG gun. I've always wanted some duals similar to enthuza's new 3" set up. Maybe we'll build us some exhausts in the next few months. You know, after your wife gives you some "shore leave."

Haha, sounds like a plan. The drive back last night was pleasantly uneventful. Although I wish I could say the same about the drive to work this morning...got in my first car wreck (not the Miata). This'll be fun with me going out of town Monday...
