Default Ignition Timing

A thought just occoured to me, does MS need to know what base timing my car is at?

when I first got the car myself and a friend set the base timing to 16btdc. looking in the spark settings I've just copied everyone elses settings and type 10deg. Should that be set to 16?

thanks!

Use a timing light and adjust the trigger or trim angle in Megatune to get the actual timing to agree to what MS thinks.

You definitely don't want MS thinking the car is at 10 when it's actually at 16.

I can't get hold of a timing light till this w/e possible next, I know for a fact my car is at 16btdc, so where should I tell MS that?

Yep, you must wait until you get a timing light till you hook up spark.

You might know that now, but as soon as you hand off ignition to MS, all bets are off. The last thing you want to take a chance on is timing.

yeah definately, prior to the MS it was set at 16. with the MS i've no idea is it's at 16 or a bastardised version between 16 and 10.

the car runs pretty good, but I've a feeling it'll run better now I know MS needs to know the base timing I'm n/a at the moment to weird timing isn't absolutly fatal
