Ignition Troubles Please Help!

Ok, so Ive got a 1990 Miata with a 1.8. Im still using the coils from the 1.6, and Ive recently finished installing MSnS-29q2 with PCB 3.0. On first attemp, w/ Nate Sullies help I got the car to momentarily run on two cylinders, 1 and 4. I realized that 2 and 3 were not firing, i then discovered that i had wired the pinout on the PCB incorrectly. Once this was fixed, I tested for voltage coming from the coil output signal from the MS, and got a 5v reading from both coil outputs, where the signal meets the Mitsubishi ignition controller thingy. But now, there is not spark when i test a spark plug, and the car wont start like it did before. :vash: I moved the signal wires as seen here https://www.miataturbo.net/forums/at...5&d=1148236634
to the opposing side of the resistors, but still no spark, and still a 5v signal. My mod is set up like that photo, but with all 1k resistors. Please just call anytime 210-269-0404 Wade.

Maybe there is a problem with the ignitor, that has only surfaced since it was running on 2 cylinders??

Get one of your local 1.6 owners to come around for a beer and while they're drinking, swap their ignitor into your car and test to see if you get a spark then. If it works then you'll know the problem.

So you can get spark with the stock ECU?

You can also try switching the LED resistors to 330s.

FIXED, i figured out that the spark output would not function correctly through the update MSnS_029q2 !?!?!?! So Nate loaded his 029I, which with a little tuning, resulted in success!!! Now i just need to learn Autotune....

That's weird.

I was running 26 code with no problems.
