intermittent ignition cut at 6k...

I was at the dyno last night and it cannot rev past 6k.

I tried putting a 15000uF capacitor between positive and ground of the Toyota COPS. I am going to try new coils, but any pointers would be appreciated.

It does well up to 6k, but after, it sounds like it's encountering a sporadic ignition cut.

no limiters set for 6k right?

I'm an idiot. Can we delete this thread?

I think we were all tired, it was 2am when we started at 4am we scratched our heads and was probably fatigued from fumes.

I'm just happy it finally made it to the dyno lmao

hey if that's the only problem, you're doing better than most people that make it on a dyno

Ok. I got the cap in, reset the rev limit values and while it does rev, it goes putt putt putt a little after 6k.

Is this why volts run two capacitors?

I swapped out the coils for another set of 4, same symptoms.

I am having about the same issue. Using FAB9 COPs with a MS3/MSx under no load (just in neutral) it will run to the rev limit of 7500 with no issue. If I put a load on it (accelerating) it acts as if it has no spark or fuel randomly above 6k.

I have been through the most of the parts including new fuel pump, filter and regulator. My settings have been checked and rechecked. I am so frustrated that I sent the MS off to Peter to have it double checked and have rewired the entire engine. I will have the MS back on Monday so I should be able to pipe in after that.

I was getting great signal from both the cam and crank and the PW was correct and stable as well.

I wish that I could be of more help but am subscribing so maybe we can get this figured out.

I'm only using a single trigger wheel to run batch. I tried gapping the sensor to the teeth to about 1 credit card thickness and it runs like junk. Pulled it away and it would hold idle again. I may have to take a composite log to see if it's dropping any signal above 6k.

If so, I think I'll try correctly gapping the sensor then adjusting the VR pots

Well it doesn't look like I have any sync errors.

Is 0.025" gap ok to run on Toyota COPS?

Not sure if you saw this: https://www.miataturbo.net/engine-pe...blowout-79713/

He has a new module to fix the issue with MS.
