It runs out beautifully... I've just got a few cosmetic things to do on this car and it will be ready for PRI next month. It's a beast though, time to go take a drive ;)

boostinsteve 11-12-2007 05:28 PM

Awesome job Jerry.

miatamania 11-12-2007 05:43 PM

damn...amazing lol.

krayzrac3r 11-12-2007 05:46 PM

Thats Great news Jerry.

Just curious though, anyone know the size difference between the 2560R and a 15G? I remember reading that they are a bit bigger than 15g's

Atlanta93LE 11-12-2007 06:13 PM

So...when are you going to open your dyno for commercial use? :D

Just shoot me an email-- I'm basically doing commercial tuning 1 day a week right now, usually Thursdays. Can't do much more than that and keep the rest of the business rolling ;).

Will do...probably once I get EBC decently close.

m2cupcar 11-12-2007 10:09 PM

Same here - need to get the EBC working... and hook up the oil cooler. Then I want some dyno tuning.:D

cjernigan 11-12-2007 10:19 PM

I should be down for some dyno time in the spring or late winter.

Stephanie Turner 11-12-2007 10:26 PM

Awesome! Tim is chomping at the bit to get one!

I really don't understand why you guys aren't in on the megasquirt action yet? It does everything you want it to and more. Plus it's really not that hard to tune. It would definitely go well with your S kits. Considering a PNP parallel solution can be had for sub $500 for the '99+ owners 90-97 is even cheaper.
Then the MSPNP makes going MS a cakewalk. Couldn't get much easier.

Ben 11-12-2007 10:46 PM

Awesome. Congratulations to you and DIY Autotune for having the second fastest 91T in the county. :)

Eunos_roadsterna6ce 11-13-2007 01:53 AM

you know anyone in California that owns a dyno? it will be good if you fly down here and tune miata somethime! hehehe..Freaken GREAT!!!!!!

Stealth97 11-13-2007 04:53 AM

Ask savington, jerry tuned his car there.

Stealth97 11-13-2007 09:03 AM

he tuned mine as well. runs fricken sweet.

Saml01 11-13-2007 09:24 AM

Does ebc hold the wastegate closed longer until its absolutely necessary? Im trying to figure out why the boost curve is so much smoother with ebc.

The wastegate holds the wastegate closed until your reach your desired psi. It will then open and regulate boost so you can tune EBC to hold boost flat to redline, or drop to redline a tiny bit if you like it better that way. Holding the wastegate closed instead of letting it open as you build boost makes the turbo spool faster.

Saml01 11-13-2007 10:51 AM

It produces a pretty big difference in power at certain points in the graph.

cjernigan 11-13-2007 10:59 AM

The EBC doesn't produce any power the turbo does. You tune the EBC so you run the max boost you can throughout the powerband to produce the most power under your knock threshhold.

I'm so full of shit it isn't funny.

TurboTim 11-13-2007 11:18 AM

Nice plot, looks great.

he's running significantly more boost with the EBC.

Not by much, you just gain a lot more accuracy with an EBC.

We are getting there. I think the MS is a great product. And Tim cannot wait to play with it. With Tim and Hank at school 2 days a week, that does cut into development time.

I'm sure we can figure something out... I just checked the dragway and saw they had closed down for the winter too... oh well. I'm too old (and maybe a bit wiser?) to do any real street racing. Though I did surprise the crap out of a 4th-gen Camaro driver today ;) (not sure of the year so it could have been LT1 or LS1).

Ben 11-13-2007 05:57 PM

Yeah, it looks like last Friday was the end of it for this year.
Hopefully when they re-open this spring they'll open up the whole 1/4 again.

Any more auto-x events this year? I want to embarrass myself.

isnt that kind of the point :)

I'll never forget the last mustang I played with on the street. Looking in the mirror both driver and passenger sat there with eyes the size of saucers and jaws pretty much laying on the pavement. Makes it all worth it :bigtu:

Nope-- AutoX is done for the year too. It's pretty much a wrap until spring....

cjernigan 11-13-2007 11:49 PM

One more autocross up in nashville, Nov 25th i think.

FoundSoul 11-14-2007 09:39 AM

My youngest turns 1yr old on the 25th ;)

cjernigan 11-14-2007 09:47 AM

That's cool, no better way to show a 1 year old how much you love him than burning the tires off at an autocross 4.5 hours away.
Congratulations on the kid, hope it's a good birthday.
