This isn't my first time running ms but after the results of my last few experiments :fael: I think I better ask you guys for help. Ive read the manuals/write up and learned enough to be dangerous but I'm still clueless on some stuff. Heres my setup.
91 festiva zm block b6t head (yes its a 1.6 :dealwithit:) gt2554r innovate lc-1 stratified pnp ecu with 4 bar map 460cc injectors festiva harness bp escort distributor So my first problem is that I've got it to start and idle halfway decent but my afr keep bouncing around at idle. I think I've found the cause but I'm not sure what I need to do to fix it. It appears to me that there is a lot of map jitter and its causing the accel enrichment to trigger. I tried playing with the map lags but it doesn't seem to help. Even just sitting without the engine running the map reading keeps moving 3-4kpa. I attached a log of that. Any ideas of what I should change/check first? |
I can't seem to read that log for some reason.
Sometimes a noisy vacuum line can be smoothed out by putting a fuel filter along the hose. |
Upload your tune.
You say the AFRs are bouncing around, but this shows a constant 22.4:1. |
That was a log of it just sitting not running without the vaccuum line hooked up. I already put a fuel filter on the line to try to smooth the signal but since it's doing it when it's not even running I figured I have a problem somewhere else. I'll load the tune when I get home from work.

Alright I've got another of my shit boxes running on megasquirt again.
Old pic I deleted vaf when I installed the megasquirt. https://flic.kr/p/22ZT28Y 91 festiva jdm 1.6 with vics 1.6 miata injectors stratified plug and play festiva wiring harness/ignition system (distributor) I've re-scaled the base maps for na use, changed the afr table based on some recommendations I've found around on here, and auto tuned my fuel map. I'm still having some trouble with idle but haven't played with that too much yet. Mostly I'm worried about my timing map at the moment. I'm planning on driving this cross country in February and don't want to worry about knock when its running on AZ/CA 91oct. Anyone see anything obviously wrong? edit: Is there some way to disable this stupid flickr crap? |
