Mac and MS2
I have a macbook that I am using bootcamp to run windows xp on. When I have a MS1 hooked up to my car the Mac works fine to connect to the MS1 and tune. It works with both TunerStudio and Megatune. When I switch to MS2 all of a sudden I have syncing issues and cannot load the correct project or firmware issues in TunerStudio. Does anyone have any clue why simply switching to MS2 from MS1 would give me these problems?
Using Braineacks dell and his usb-serial adapter I can communicate with the MS2 fine. |

Using Braineacks dell and his usb-serial adapter I can communicate with the MS2 fine. My best recommendation is to try to use TS on the mac side, and see where it takes you. The second option is try to tinker with the windows side, like reinstall TS and make new projects. If that doesn't work for either options, try looking for a really cheap netbook. I use an eeePC 1005HA just for tuning, an im sure you can pick up a lower model with similar specs for less than $250. |

I used to use a macbook with TunerStudio to tune my car as well. I never really tried using MSII on the windows side, but if you didn't know, TunerSTudio also works on a Mac because of its Java programming code.

I am almost positive that I switched that in the serial settings. I will check again this afternoon though.

I flashed it on my pc with no issues. then after trying to talk to it with his MAC it pretty much corrupted the firmware. it would constantly alter the loaded map, and it would simply not flash any firmware with his mac.
Yesterday, I brought over a brand new ms2 chip and loaded it with the latest firmware, we made sure he had the same project folder i created on his mac. Once he opened TS it gave a mismatch firmware error. said I had "MSII Extra Rel 3.03r" loaded but it found "MSII Extra ReL 3.03r" when i clicked ignore it didnt like it, and wouldn't connect. hooking up my pc there was no issues, we set the base timing and drove around and tuned a little. |

Which serial-usb adapter are you using in OSX? The one I have I have never gotten the drivers to work correctly.
