Default MEGASQUIRT Led will not illuminate

I got my megasquirt 2 diy with plug and play harness a few days ago and installed it into the car then reconnected the battery terminal put the ignition into the first powered position and the led lights illuminated on the front of my unit. I then got my laptop with tuner studio my serial to usb adapter and the correct drivers installed and attempted to connect to the unit and it was unable to detect the unit. After this I noticed that all of the leds on my megasquirt were dark and that it appeared to be powered off. I then disconnected the negative battery terminal removed unit from the plug and play harness and removed it from the car and attempted to reinstall it. After reinstalling the unit still no luck getting the leds to illuminate or getting the unit to connect to my mac or my windows laptop. Any insight would be very appreciated and I would just like to know of ways to troubleshoot my unit and see if I can get this resolved. car is a 1991 bone stock except for headers. Anyone with any useful information please

Did you take out the ST fuse? Do you hear your fuel pump priming?
