Megasquirt PNP Gen 2, vTPS
Hello MTX members, I recently received my megasquirt ecu and was curious if there's a specific "jumper/connector" needed to enable the variable TPS (I jumped J5)? I attached a few photos on what I did.
92 chassis and Harness 00' engine and drivetrain I will be using the TB from the 00' NB. The TPS will be unplugged until I bring it to the dyno. I'm trying to get it calibrated before then. https://fbcdn-photos-e-a.akamaihd.ne...916b6602cc771c I crimped the connector just a tad, so it fits snug. https://fbcdn-photos-h-a.akamaihd.ne...c0fd53fa079e98 |

Yes. J5... in fact Variable TPS is printed on the board.
While researching my own vTPS issues, I saw quite a bit about how to provide for vTPS on early 1.6 cars. Not sure of the details, but you may want to search for specifics, as it may not be as easy as installing a later model TB/TPS under the hood. Good luck. |
Thank you Joe!
I also wired my 92 tps wires with the NB tps wires, NB -> NA green / red = green / white green / black = red black / red wire = black / green wire Edit** Found the sticky thread |
Good stuff.
You'll want to check to make sure that the wire going into 2L on the MS shows the variable voltage as the TPS opens/closes. Pretty sure the 92 doesn't have any wires at ECU position 2M from the factory... but for me that was the one. A quick repositioning of 2M to 2L on the harness allowed my MS to see the TPS open and close. Sounds like you're already on top of this though... |
