Megasquirt R33 Burning up
I recently assembled a diypnp kit from diyautotune using the instructions from their website. After loading a basemap from a 91 miata my car started. The only issue was my clt signal which was reading 0C. In an attempt to trouble shoot the megasquirt I soldered a 1k ohm resistor between clt and ground to simulate the clt at 40 C. I then powered it using a power supply and connected it to my laptop My laptop did not show any connection. I then noticed that r33(part of the 3 wire iac circuit) was starting to burn. I removed the 1k resistor between clt and ground and tested it again, yet still no connection. I'm going to do more trouble shooting ,but i think I just burnt up my megasquirt.
I found the problem!!! There was a small chip oh the back of the pcb that cut the connection between the front lct terminal and the main board. After jumping this with some spare wire the megasquirt is reading correct values.
