Default megasquirt tuning question

okay, here's a bit of backstory, i purchased this 1991 miata 1.6L from a guy who had already straight piped his car to an exhaust and done some ECU tuning. It also used to pop alot on decel if i brought it up to 4-5k rpm, let off the gas, then press it ever so slightly. down the line i ran into a puddle during heavy rain destroyed that engine, then replaced it with a lower mileage engine of the same year, used the same tune and it sounded even louder! then a few weeks later had some wiring and ecu issues due to the vacuum line sucking moisture which required me to bring it back to the shop and the mechanic insisted to re-tune the ECU i agreed to that but i totally lost the popping and exhaust backfire on decel and i want it back.

i turned off overrun fuel cut on tuner studio, clicked burn, didn't work.
currently running a megasquirt PNP2

what do i do lol

sounded just like this

While this isn't really anything to be pursuing, at least in my opinion... Read up on how to tune.
Read about how the amount of fuel in the VE tables, combined with spark advance/retard in the ig. tables, will get results.

Once again, this isn't really something to aim toward.
But learning how to tune on your own is something to aim toward.

The deceleration is the lowest part of the table, I suppose that as in launch control setting when you want flames, you should reduce the advance, even to positive degrees, so you will let non combusted gases flowing down your exhaust pipe and getting burned there because of the high temp of the exhaust. Only stetic modification, because the maximun power is when you burn all the fuel you put into, you will be burning your money each time you heard a pop.
Let somebody with a higher knowledge to answer you better, this only as information.
best regards
