MS pnp connection issues
i know i had this problem before but i fixed it i thought. my cars been sitting in outside for a year and just got all my turbo set up and wanted to start her up. at first i didnt know why it wasnt working cause of the dreaded COM problems. but i opened up device manager and matched the 2 COms and
"NO RESPONSE" So i update the drivers and stil the same except that when i open megatune it does not say would u like to stay offline. it just loads right up but im not connected to the ECU. Yes the megasquirt is on and all connections are plugged in although when its illuminated it kind of strobes and such Also i can not fetch any info from the unit itself anyone got any ideas for me to try |
Did you change to the correct com port in megatune itself?
|
yes
|
would downloading the latest version of megatune and reloading the firmware on the MS fix this? i have the Megatune 2.25 p1 and there is p3 available
|
I'm kinda thinking that it doesn't have anything to do with your firmware and most likely not megatune either. But trying both of those wont hurt anything. I'd say double check those drivers. What adapter are you using and what OS are you running?
|
Are you running Vista?
Have you tried changing the number multiple times in megatune. I had this problem with a converter cable for vista to the 9 pin. |

I'm really developing a strong hatred for vista. Wishing I would have just paid for the 99 dollar downgrade to XP on my new laptop. |
lol u and me both. vista is a pain in my rear end:giggle:

bought it from frys
|
ahh, thats a venture into the unknown. I'd say try another computer or try another adapter. I'm nearly certain thats where your problem is, not megatune or firmware.
|
ill try it out
thanks :bowrofl: |
just tried changing different COMs via MS also through the device manager. neither of them worked. so im left with getting new wires from frys
|
I saw my friends AEM connect fine with my laptop and not connect with his. Same computer, same OS.
Try a diff comp. Who really knows the ways of windows. |
Could you run the Port Check program and post a screen shot?
|
i did the port checker and i got as follows
COM3 Opened 9600 baud "s"ing 's' 115200 "s"ing 's' COM5 Opened 9600 baud No Connection Made 115200 baud No Connection Made COM6 Opened 9600 baud No Connection Made 115200 baud No Connection made COM7 Opened 9600 baud No Connection Made 115200 baud No Connection made 4 valid ports found The COM that the device manager shows the serial-usb is COM5. let me know if theres something else i can do |
What happens if you try reloading the firmware?
