MS serial to OBD2 connection

So I'm looking at getting the iPhone and making the migration from TrackMaster to Harry's Laptimer and I would like to take advantage of the Sensor Wizard feature (OBD II) so I can get an overlay with the GPS telemetry.

My question is, has anyone been able to successfully configure a serial to OBDII connector similar to this

It wouldn't be that simple. You'd need a piece of hardware in between to poll the MS, store the realtime variables, and construct OBD-II packets for the reader to consume.

My new Enhanced MS2/MS3 will likely return OBD-II data.

Just FYI you might want to watch out with that if you are planning on selling your new MS's in the USA. I could see some parts of the US Gov not liking that and giving you trouble.

It would be an AMAZING feature though.

it wouldn't report emissions data, so, iirc, it's still okay for offroad use.

completely agree, just amazed that no one has thought of this yet.

Actually, the ECU you bought was from me. It is an MS2 V3.0.

LOL my bad. It works flawless by the way. The switching between the e85 and pump gas maps is money.
