MS on a stock '99 - would it make sense?

You should post info on that board here. I think it's pretty neat.
I guess someone should look at the licensing on the MS-II. It's easy to **** off the wrong people and get threatened, at least, I've heard of it.
If you can run the MS-II code, maybe all you have to buy from B&G is the MS-II chip. If they are ok with it, I'd be happy to try to lay out a board maybe to use the MS-II daughtercard and the rest would be PnP miata?
Maybe it's more trouble than it's worth, but it would be small. :-)

The geek that I am, I see it as a challenge to build all necessary circuits on the existing V3 PCB, hence only a board for the connector.
Had it used the 64pin connector instead of the 72pin, I would have tried to stuff it inside the standard MS case even.
You're right about your board. You could turn it into a full blow PNP by simply adding the MS2 daughterboard and a couple of extra circuits. But I'm sure B&G won't allow it, otherwise DIY wouldn't have used a µSquirt.
From the standpoint of the geeks that we are, it would be totally awesome to make such a board, although more trouble than it's worth and not sellable without getting into trouble (which I totally understand btw!)
