Default MS1 vs MS2 for a NA

I'm pretty familiar with the megasquirt, and I'll probably build it myself if/when I do it. I'm curious about getting opinions on MS1 vs MS2 for a miata. For now my 92 has the stock 1.6. I'm planning on swapping in a 1.8, maybe turbo'd later. The 1.6 drives and I plan on building up the 1.8 at leisure.

Turbo depends on the block - If the new engine needs pistons, I'll probably just build a high compression engine. If not, it'll get a turbo to go with the lower compression pistons.

Since I haven't taken a dive in the MS pool, I'm not certain which is a better choice for what I'll be doing. Mostly, I'll just tweak it a bit and forget about it once it's up and running to my satisfaction.

MS1. Too easy to pass up. Also there's a PNP version of it too.

Having done both, it's my opinion that the extra capabilities of the MS2 come at the cost of added complexity in the configuration software. There's nothing at all wrong with the MS2, but for someone with an NA who is just starting out with MS, I'd suggest the MS1 as the learning curve will be somewhat shallower.
