MS2/Extra firmware 3.1.0 released
http://www.msextra.com/forums/viewto...?f=101&t=39013
The post mentions that users of the 3.0.XX series are advised to upgrade. Has anyone here upgraded? Any changes? |
I have it. Didn't make any difference for me.
|
I upgraded 4 hours ago. The ride is much more smoother. I love it.
It even starts quicker. (I had huge problems with starting due to noise from the cam signal) maybe it is solved.. who knows. I will test it more and I will report. |

It shows on the composite logger.
|
I had a couple of weird problems when running on 2 injector banks in combo with alphaN. Also my CLT jumped somehow when hot. So on that vehicle (it was a motorbike) I flashed it back to 2.1.0e and had no problems after that. I posted this to the MS forum aswell. It might be in the vehicle's wiring though. Just to let you know.

the new closed loop idle PID stuff they are working on for 3.1.1 and 3.1.2 looks pretty cool/interesting, I'm going to try it out here soon after I get my turbo back from Begi.

I've tried it and it does make a huge difference (but you need to cut down on your PI by more than 50%). All my latest ECUs have this even though they report a firmware version of 3.1.0.
|
What do your P and I values look like after the retune?
I flashed the 3.1.2 on the car and the idle is nicely even with my old PI values, I didn't have the time to re-tune up to now... |
Went from 40/140/5 to 20/50/2.

I'm at 5/30/10 without the new code...lol. |
You haz a NA idle valve...no comparison between the NA and the NB idle valve.
|
this is true. was just saying. I'll probably load alpha7 one of these days, but I really have no need.
|
skip alpha7. the next alpha will be better. especially for me. and dimitris.
|
And Jason.
|
well i dont need the vvt improvements, but ill get whatever is newest :)
|
I recently updated to 3.1.0. I did notice the difference in idle response with respect to PID settings. The idle seems smoother and drops much faster than before when blipping the throttle.
Edit: Any change to the sequential misfire issue? |
I don't believe 3.1.0 had any changes regarding PID from before. As for the RPMs dorpping faster, maybe you installed a lightweight flywheel in between?
|
Ummmm, no.
Although I do have a lightweight flywheel, the RPM drop change was as if the idle control duty % was reduced. The idle hang is less than before. |
it could be the addition of the idle shift code, where it keeps the idle valve closed above a certain rpm.
|
I have the same problem with the very fast dropping relvs.
I have (and had before) a very light flywheel. But in fall last year the idle came on very nicely at the stoplights, when pressing the clutch. Now the car stalls almost every time, when I press the clutch. I didn't notice the "keep valve closed" option before - could it be something with this... I took a log yesterday, but after that the harddisk of my car-pc decided to take a crap... :vash: I seriously need help with this. What other values cause the fast drop and not catching at idle. (BTW, if it stays running the idle is superb after maybe 2 seconds) |

I can't wait to try this revised code out. Incidentally have you added it to your modified MSII code? and If so can I try it? I want the lockout when the car is in neutral and the clutch is engaged specifically! |
