Hi,

I am building an MS2 version 3 pcb using ms2/extra firmware for my brothers birthday present. I am using a jimstim. I have built everything according to this manual (Assembly Guide - MegaSquirt(R) V3.0 Main Board) skipping vr circuit and high current ignition circuit (jumped). I have installed the pwm idle valve mod as shown in the manual. Now I want to install the fan relay mod, and the spark output mod to not fry coils etc if I forget to unplug them.

Okay, I have gotten home now, realized why the JimStim Led's werent working (they were, i just didnt have things wired correctly), so that is all fine now. I should tackle the main problem i see now. With cylinders set to 4, number of coils to wasted spark and spark a output D14, i get output to D14 but not D16 or D15. Just went through the logic level output here Megasquirt (V3.0 board) - Spark/ignition output, When in testing mode, the led's light correctly, including the jimstim leds when jumpered but no matter what i set number of coils to, i get no spark output on D15 or D16, have tried with different cylinder configurations. Nothing has worked, would appreciate some insight. Currently set to gloing low as per the msextra sparkout page, D14 is always on, D16 is not. Just checked pin 8 on the CPU socket which shows no voltage unlike pin 7 showing 4.8V, pin 8 showing 0 which fits with the test mode enabling led but not the ignition code. Really confused here, is there something else I need to do in order for it to output to D16/to a different spark output?

Using output test inj/spk mode, i can select any spark output and it will flash correctly. So it must be that the megasquirt is not set to output to spark b when in wasted spark mode. Is there any input stuff i need to do in order for the jimstim wheel simulator to correctly trigger multiple spark outputs and what is the correct spark mode to be in for jimstim.

Edit 3: Okay, I have done mods for the 4g63 as shown here MS2-Extra Miata 4g63 Manual
Still have the pwm idle valve mod done.

My jimstim 1.5 is set to 4G63 wheel mode, when i turn the rpm pots up, i see the second spark output flash but rpm jumps from 100 to 0 constantly with sync loss counter going up, the higher i turn the pots the faster the sync loss, and when i get very high i see both spark outputs alternating somewhat.

I'm quite stuck here, I'm guessing its something todo with the secondary tach that is causing the desync, but i don't know if its some jumpers I must set for my jimstim or if it's something I'm missing on the megasquirt.
