Default MS3 Interchangeability

So I have a 2003 Miata, and I'm looking into getting a megasquirt ecu, someone has one for sale on here that was used on a 03 VVT engine but it was in a 90 Miata. So I was wondering if this would be a direct swap to my 03 or would anything need changed? Any and all help is appreciated, thanks. Also if this post is in the wrong spot my bad.

It depends on what sort of MS3 it is. If it is a MSPNP-Pro or MSLab's based ecu then it will be a royal pita to get it to work. As you will have to build a custom wiring harness adapter. If it is a MS3X from braineack, then you just need to buy a boomslang harness from him.

Shuiend said it, it won't be a direct swap, but it can be made to work.

The harnesses, wiring, and connectors are completely different and will need to be redone. This is probably one of those, "If you have to ask, then it's not for you" kind of things. You'll likely be a lot happier in the end if you buy a megasquirt that is made for your car.

This one will require a new patch harness. Inquire with Braineack on how much that would cost.
