Impressive work!

What purpose does the real time clock serve though?

It is so that when you use on board sdcard data logging you can tell when your logs are from.

And that's it? Wow, doesn't seem at all worth the trouble of adding it to the MS3X, should come by default with it I guess.

What are you using for an RTC?

I will be using it so when I leave my sdcard in my MS3x for a month and then want to go back and look at a log file from a specific day or time I can.

No, I meant, what is the IC you're using for the RTC implementation... Just being curious, I could use one for something else.

The idea of timestamping the logs is quite clever, I could surely use that feature, it just feels like something the MS3 should have had all along, that's all.

I also just ordered the knock module and map daddy. The RTC will have to wait a bit for me to have some more cash money.

not to be a cheap-***, but I thought it was gonna be closer to $50 than $100, sad panda. (ok, so I'm actually a cheap ***, lol)

I was thinking the same thing personally, but detecting knock is worth the cost at the end of the day.

Yeah well... If we didn't have e85-a-plenty here I'd probably have already entered my CC details, but as is its almost more of a curiosity at this point.

How about a group buy for the cheap asses like myself.

I was going to get the RTC, but like others, I expected the price to be about ~ $100 for both products.

Other than time stamping datalogs? Does this open up potential for advanced autotuning features?

I just got in my knock module. I should be installing it sometime later this afternoon or tomorrow. Then I just need an engine to test it on.
