MS3x base map
Hello All
Im looking to see if anyone has a base map I can use to get my car tuned with similar mods to the ones listed below? I already sent a PM to Scott for some assitance since I bought the Ms3x from him, Im sure he told me a base map would be provided with the MS. But my tuner couldnt find it.. I know Scott is a busy man, so im asking for some assitance here: current car setup 97 with 2860 ms3x brain built gm iat aem uego id725 injectors stock cas and crank wheel Thanks in advance |
your MS3x is loaded with a basemap for your car already.
|
That's what I thought you told me before, but I guess they can't find it, Would you be able to pm me another one?? do you know any tuners in the Bay Area that are experts??
|
find it? it's loaded on the unit.
plug it in, open your project, connect it to TS, and it'll d/l off the unit once connected (and prompted), then hit file save tune as, and they can "find" the tune. ;) I can email you what I loaded when I'm home if you really need it. |
Alright that sounds good :-) I'll let them know, but could I still get what was loaded just in case?? Thanks again for all the help
|
Still need that email Scott, so when you get a chance can you send it my way :)
thanks again for the help! |
Hey there Scott, just following up on the base map email.. where you able to send that out?
thanks again charlie |
I bet his tuner has no wifi or internet or something and can't dl the proper .ini or something
|
I agree with you 18PSI, I know Scott told me the base map would be there.. and I totally believe him...
|
Charlie, were you not able to get the tune off the MS?
I'm local, like 93908. I'm no expert but I've done this before if you need another set of eyes. |
EO2K thanks man!!
Trust me after this car is up and running I'm going to need all the help I can get! |
No worries! Hope I can help where I can. Responded to your PM.
I'd recommend you go make an intro thread here:Meet and Greet - Miata Turbo Forum - Turbo Kitten is watching you test compression. Tell us about your car, goals, mechanical ability, cat, etc. Post pics, we loves pics. ;) |
Thanks Scott just got the new base map :)

Ok Guys, I got a chance to help Charlie out yesterday and I've run into a sticking point. He got Brains instructions and we walked through them and confirmed everything looked good, but we are at that part where you get to start the car and set timing... and I can't find the bloody timing marks on the balancer. No seriously, there is like one white dot on the face of the balancer but its not anywhere near where I would expect it.
We did find that the sensor ground for the Wideband was not hooked up, so took care of that and things were pretty close in TunerStudio (0.3~0.4) This is a 94-97 1.8 with a CAS and I'm used to NB hardware so this is a little different for me. I need to confirm TDC but I don't want to rip his engine apart to do it. Here is what I'm thinking:
The car actually ran on the stock ECU before the MS3 went in so I don't really want to pull the valve cover off. It "should" be pretty close to the 10 degrees the stock ECU expects to be able to run. She cranks and pushes fuel around, we get the occasional pop through the exhaust, but I can't get it to pop with any frequency. We abused it until the battery got warm so it was time to stop. What do? Logs attached. |
Nobody got nothin'? I know you all are home from work by now.
|
Braineack: Can you confirm that his MS3 hardware was setup for batch ignition to work with the stock coilpack? I can't quite figure out what I'm looking at here.
|
should be.
can you do a composite log while cranking to see if the cam/crank signals are coming through properly? |
Awesome, thanks :brain:
Can do, I'll be back to look at it again tonight and I'll see if I can pull a composite. I don't know why I didn't think of that, its been over a year since I touched a MS and I'm still a noob with some of this stuff  Something else I just thought of... is it possible that the harness connectors are on the wrong coils? I think the blue marked one goes on the passenger side, and that's 1/4? I think its labeled on the coil pack bracket. At any rate I'll look it up today and confirm all the ignition stuff after we are done confirming the timing. |
The harness connectors would be correct at the coils. Remember it ran on the stock ecu.. The only way they could be firing opposite is if the boomslang was wired wrong. Try swapping the connectors and try firing it.
|
Thanks T, just swapped them but no dice. Playing with stuff atm.
