I just put my head back on after having the valves done and i was setting base timing and ran into a strange issue. The timing with the timing light is showing 8* BTDC when being commanded 10*. My CAS adjustment is maxed out so i tried using the trigger wizard to off set the 2* but when i adjust the value at all from the 360* set point it shuts off and will not restart until i put it back to 360. It will shut off and not restart whether selecting 360.5* or 259.5* I've triple checked my cam timing and its right on. Its in a FE3N but its set up as a BP with a BP CAS which is why the trigger is set 360*. is there a step I'm missing?
I'm trying to come up with ideas and was thinking of a few options:
#1 Rotating the key on the CAS that inserts into the cam by 180* so that i should be able to put the trigger wizard to 0*. im thinking it might not like the adjustment because there is an issue with the value being too high. If that doesnt work i can always flip it back.
#2 To grind out the slot longer for more adjustment but im not sure if there is enough room or how thin it can get and not crack and damage the CAS.
UPDATE: flipping the cas key that goes into the cam 180* and setting the trigger wizard to 0* fixed it. I can now make the small adjustments in the trigger wizard without issues.
