MS3x driving stock coils - spark output setting?

Think I blew my stock coils running spark inverted (going high) copied from my old MS2 config. Before I go off running my spares, confirmation that Normal should be correct?

Going high is the correct setting with most ignitions, including Miata.

I have ran my car on the ms3x with spark going high with stock coils, Toyota cops, and now ls2 coils.

What year car do you have. I have a spare 94 coil pack available.

Edit: eliminate confusion

It all depends what's driving the coils. Using the MS3x should be going high.

Ok, MS3x settings "going high inverted" rising edge.

Thanks - I'll throw in my spare coils, check output mode, and cross my fingers that it solves everything. Too many simple mistakes I've made in this upgrade..

Future upgrade: IGN1A coilpacks - going high still? Is it fair to say most everything with an internal ignitor is going high?

Look into going ls2 coils for future a upgrade. You can do a full setup for around $100. The ls2 coils also work with stock spark plug wires.

if running off the ms3x board, then yes, more than likely.

I've already got the IGN1A's.. just haven't got them installed.

After a visit to my friendly miata parter and some new coils, I finally have MS3 3.57 and MS3x running without sputtering.

Also - a protip. If you f up royally installing MS3, then go back to MS2 to check if everything isn't horribly broken, and your coolant sensor is reporting 180 degrees cold.. you probably ran the battery waaay down low.

Now to figure out if the LC1 is really fucked up, or if it was again caused by the battery (XD16 reporting AFR of.. 4-5, LC1 reporting "expected" values in megasquirt/logworks, eventually reporting nothing but 10.2 during warmup and 19.9 during running..)

Now onto LC1, idle fuel, fuel pressure, and idle PID tuning..

Edit: Nope, LC1 shit the bed, sweeping between 10 and 19.. let me make sure my project has LC1 defined.. using multiple laptops for tuning.
