MS3x with Knock module Brain built
2000 miata with Recent update to MS3X ECU FROM Vodoo box |Bigger 650 cc injectors.
Car is running very well and on livetune for about 3 hours now.
Starts well idles perfectly and runs pretty smoothly with more tuning/ massaging to get it all perfect.
Im currently limiting the car to around 150-160 Kpa until Im happy the Fuel , timing and i have specified are in fact all working well.
Thus:
So far so good.
Sooooo my mind starts wandering ... a sure sign of imminent onset of Dementia !
So I want to set up my Knock module and look at a trace or two.
No luck . if the knock module is enabled I can never read any inputs while the car is running on Knock Cyl #1 thru Knock Cyl#4 the logs always are 0% . On the other hand there is a Knock in and it starts at 0% with ignition on and engine stopped. if the engine starts this signal goes to 102% . it never changes.
Whatever changes i make to the gain controls has no effect ,nor do changes to the knock sensor settings except it does allow me to turn the knock sensor on or off .
The knock sensor is a new OEM unit just installed into the block at the usual spot . The old unit I removed had its? tarry sealer leak out of the unit and down the block a a black sort of sap . The connector and the wiring harness and the wires that the new sensor plugged into all appear normal.
A perusal of the wiring diagram of 2000 miata shows no pre amplifier connected to the sensor before the ECU input ?

IM stumped what infernal setting have I got un done ..... overdone...... r........ just plain not dun ????

well it looks fone though that means next to nothing.
Interesting that the knockin sees 102% input on motor start but every other knock input is flatlined at 0........ so something is getting to the knockin to ramp it up like that .
