MSPNP a few problemas

1. With the idle valve forced all the way down my car still idles at 1100 RPMs is there something in MT that changes the idle speed?

2. One thing is that whenever i burn a new fuel table into the MS i get lots and lots of white smoke for about 20-30 seconds then it goes away. My turbo is oil cooled. Could my rings be bad? Or HG?

3. I am leaking oil from the oil drain line. its pretty tight any advice?

4. also a little bead of oil on the feed line forms on the joint as well. I dont want to tighten it more because ive already broke it once. Any ideas?

5. I know this ones been beaten to death about fuel tables but my car idles around 14.4 but as soon as i touch the throttle it goes into the 11 or 10's Another thing is i cant go WOT because at 4500 rpms it starts to lean out.
Ive tried tuning this out and it starts to lean out when just throttle blips and hiccups. As soon as i use VE analyzer that all goes away but im stuck with super rich mixture. Thoughts? Ideas?

6. What do you guys put your closed/open loop threshold at?

Does anyone have a fuel table i can look at that has rx7 460cc injectors and something around the size of the greddy (t25, gt2554, td04-15g)

Yes, there is.

The attached VEX is from my car, with HiRez code, 440cc injectors, a Greddy turbo, FMIC, and WI. I run leaner than some folks. Also, ReqFuel must be set to 3.5 for this table.

I would like to know where :bowrofl:

Are you adjusting your AFR Targets? Last time I looked at your MSQ they were unchanged which would cause some of the issues you're seeing. Also something I noticed was that your exhaust gas settings were a little wacky, but that might be due to your AEM WB02.

About the idle, mine does the same thing. I cannot get the MS to control my idle at all anymore. I assumed my idle valve is dead as it half-assed worked once upon a time but now just idles at 1100 no matter what I do.

Here comes the little airplane. PPPPPPPPPP. Now open wide. Good boy! You like strained peas, don't you?

Joe, you are a philanthropist. I laugh because I will be that guy begging for help one of these days, and I know I will feel just as helpless!:)

So i realized why my car wasnt doing what i wanted. I didnt know that i had to set tables DIRR :facepalm::facepalm: So after i was spoonfed i took to the road and tuned for about an hour. It drives lots better but when im boostin (only 5 pounds) i max out my RX7 460cc injectors. They are at 100% DC at about 5k WOT. Somethings not right here. I know these injectors are good to about 240-250HP and im maybe making 140 to the wheels (full exhaust stock timing) I was like WTF why am i at 15.2 afr wot then i glanced at my log and injectors were maxed. I know this isnt good. Do i need to change my injector opening time? If so what to?

please... dont make me beg

If it says they're approaching 100% DC, then they probably are. You can verify this by looking at injector duration and then comparing this to cycle time.

Is it possible that your fuel system isn't up to par? Clogged filter, shitty pump, broken FPR, something like that? (edit: I see you have a 'Bro 190, which isn't a shitty pump. Still- filter, FPR, etc?)

SKMetalworks 06-03-2009 07:26 PM

Fuel filter was replaced within the last 2000 miles. Could be clogged due to sitting for a year and a half. Ill go try that. Also i am not using an aftermarket FPR. Do i need to get one?

No, you don't need an aftermarket FPR. I was referring to the stock one, which is at the back of the fuel rail.

Short version: get a pressure gauge capable of reading 0-100 PSI or so. In fact, Here's a whole fuel pressure test kit that costs $16.99 and includes all the fittings. I'm guessing that the HF store in Bellevue probably has it in stock. If you don't want to spend that much, get this one for $5.99 and use fittings from the hardware store.

Stick it in the fuel line before the rail, and run the tests in the FSM to diagnose any potential problems with the FPR or pump which might account for lower than spec fuel pressure.

The HF store in Tukwila is much closer to him ;)

Sweet ill pick one up tomorrow after work!

Side note. I fixed my IAT sensor so now i can actually see what my intake temps are!

Another side note. I figured out why my car smoked after i "burned" new values in... Because of the small oil leak thats dripping on the downpipe and the time required for me to change the fuel tables as soon as i start driving it heats up causing smokage!

1 more... Do you know the bird is the word?

So wait, you were driving around trying to tune with no IAT?! Dude, no wonder you're having so many issues!

SKMetalworks 06-04-2009 11:40 PM

Lol i didnt realize it was broken :fawk:

Got the fuel pressure tester and checked it out... Im not sure if i grabbed the wrong fuel line but im pretty sure i remember fuel coming out of the line when i pulled it apart a while back. This time nothing dry as a bone... Tried swapping the lines on top of the fuel pump thinking i reversed the flow somehow. Nothin. Im starting to think i put the fuel filter on backwards checkin that out right now as we speak

SKMetalworks 06-05-2009 12:20 AM

Sat under the car for 15 minuets relaxing. fuel filter is on correctly.
