Good call on this guys-- I should have called this out more specifically and I'll update the post with the .msq's to do so. These maps are base maps, tuned for a near stock N/A car (up to 100kpa), but scaled for boost. Everything above 100kpa is untuned, but as I expect many people to want to boost these cars I went ahead and scaled the maps for boost so you wouldn't have to rescale them and retune the entire n/a area when you do that. It will still need fine tuning of course, but not nearly as much. For example on Ben's turbo car we stated with these maps and we didn't touch the timing under 100kpa, but we did steady state in the VE table everywhere as it will be different when you put a turbo on which is a big restriction in the exhaust the therefore changes VE, and then we tuned timing above 100kpa for his setup under boost. Lastly we did WOT ramp runs at increasing levels of boost tuning fuel and timing to perfection...

So Jerry are you guys using the same maps for the 1.8? I know you picked up that 95 and am curious how that tuning is coming along.

The maps should be the same for the 1.8l, all that changes is the ReqFuel variable.

Currently I am using almost the same maps-- I adjust the constants, and adjusted the entire VE table like 5% down, and it drives out amazingly well. I did pull some timing from that table as I want to dyno it before I just drop a well tuned map from another motor and let it rip-- but where I've got it now feels pretty good really. I could almost release it as a base map-- but of course I'll be hitting the dyno up and getting it just right.

What about using the MSnSe Hi-Res code?

yup already run it, the high res code gives you better injection resolution, but it's still not as good as the MSII Extra resolution. Add in the bigger tables for inition and injection too... they all help!
