Default Mspnp2 mm9495, Noob question

Hey everyone, Getting my ecu ready for install.
I went to open up the megasquirt Case to change a couple jumpers inside for the set up I need.

aside from that, probably not a concern but, I have the MSPNP2 mm9495, and when I opened it up the black lower circuit board inside says on it MSPNP2 mm9095 v1.3.
im thinking that is just a common board that was used for the units but configured differently to be the mm9495.
just hoping that somebody might have some insight into this. Why the case would be labelled 9495 but the circuitboard 9095.
this may be a stupid question but i always like to know the most I can about everything I’m working with.

any knowledge appreciated
thanks everyone!

Im pretty sure all pnp2 boards are the same and the only difference lies in the pinouts for the harness

I agree w/ @alright 90-95 seem to use the same boards and are just jumpered differently. For instance, I switched from 4 wire coils on my 95 to 3 wire LS coils and needed Tachout to work. I needed to install a jumper for the connection from the 1.2 board to the harness to work. In my case there wasn't even a jumper on the board, so I had to install the 2 pins and add a jumper.

I haven't seen a 96-97 MSPNP2 to know how those differ. The unused center connector plugs on mine do have pins that are duplicated to the main harness, so maybe they are what is used on 96-97.

In my case my board would only have been able to be used on a 94-95, hence the sticker. With added jumpers I think it could be reconfigured to 90-93, or possibly 96-97 as well. Example: It might be bad news if TACHOUT is jumpered and 4 wire coils are plugged in. I believe that is why there are pre-configured versions, so that people don't jumper them incorrectly and blow components on the board. PNP = easier to install and harder to break in this case.

No TACHOUT signal gong to harness on a 94-95

Pins soldered in to allow jumper for TACHOUT from board to harness.

Jumper installed on pin for TACHOUT signal from ECU to work.

Ok good to know about the board numbers and differences .
the Tach-out jumper soldering is what I need to do as well.
Thanks guys
