My Megasquirt Questions

So I am slowly going through my build and I have a couple of questions right now. I am at step 50 so do I want to do the hall/optical input circuit or triggering off the negative coil?

I will be posting more questions as I go along.

Al Hounos 03-02-2007 04:34 PM

optical

Please read through the second sticky in this forum also. It has all the miata-specific steps listed.

Thanks al Hounos. I have read through the second sticky a couple of times. I am jsut kinda slow when it comes to this eletronic stuff.

I am now at step 65 and got a question. I know not to do it since I am running MS1 but what steps exactly on the MSnS-E site do I follow? Also do I do steps 69 and 70?

You looking to run fuel and spark?

shuiend 03-08-2007 11:02 PM

I will be doing fuel and spark. I finally got my MS done except for the miata specific mods. I will be doing those tommorow once I get some wire. I am so happy that it works in megatune. I was having trouble getting the time going up in real time display and it finally started working. Hopefully tommorow I will start the actual install in my car.

So I finished up my megasquirt today. Tommorow will be fun trying to isntall it. I am going through the wiring diagrams now to try to figure it out.

congrats man! good luck wiring it up.

adbradley 03-09-2007 10:02 PM

good luck, i havent tried spark on mine, but fuel is working

shuiend 03-09-2007 11:13 PM

adbradly if you do only fuel you have to still leave all the sensors going to the stock ecu right?

That's the beauty of having a switchable system. You can switch the sensors back to the ecu or to the MS so the stock ecu controls spark, MS runs fuel, MS runs both, or MS runs spark and stock ECU runs fuel(pointless). All kinds of options with a switchable system.

adbradley 03-09-2007 11:38 PM

yeah im switchable.. so my stock ecu always has input from stock sensors..

shuiend 03-09-2007 11:43 PM

Interesting I need to go find those diagrams of the switchable system on here. More things for my to figure out tonight.

adbradley 03-09-2007 11:46 PM

hehehe i made my own diagram.. wasnt hard let me take a pic of what i made give me a few minutes

adbradley 03-09-2007 11:47 PM

shuiend 03-09-2007 11:49 PM

Thanks alot adbradley. I know there are some other diagrams up I just need to search for them. Being on a borrowed laptop and not haveing everything bookmarked sucks.

adbradley 03-09-2007 11:52 PM
