Default NA8 FM Flyin' Miata Base Map needed

Hey! Long story, but I've got a 1995 NA8 that we raced *and blew up* in the https://24hoursoflemons.com/ race last fall. It legit was a $500 automatic that hadn't been driven in years. It took until the middle of day to to blow the head gasket and overheat.

So, we rebuilt it. Rebuilt cylinder head was the least of it. We also swapped the transmission for a manual and loaded her with a Flyin' Miata turbo kit. Got a 1st gen Megasquirt with the previous owner's map on it. No idea what it was.

It really is a thing of beauty! Literally started right up first try - overall moves quick and feels smooth. A little hesitation on initial throttle is noticeable but other than that not much to complain about.

So right now there's no exhaust on it. Just the FM down pipe.

Once we get a known good base map loaded and an exit pipe for the exhaust (no need for cat or muffler. This is track only), then we'll dyno tune it.

What I'm looking for a somebody who has a decent base map for an NA8 car with a turbo, ideally, the FM kit. Anything close would be helpful.

Thanks!

Fancy dashboard

Your car starts and runs. sounds like you already have a "basemap" that works with your car. the rest is tuning.

not a lot of people are running MS1 anymore, mostly ms2 and ms3, and the maps are not directly backwards compatible. plus some one elses map might not work with your exact setup.

FM never sold megasquirt ecus, so they do not have any basemaps. but you can get basemaps from DIYAUTOTUNE. The manufacturer of your ecu.

I second that if it cranks and runs you have your good base map.

I had a MS1 until a couple of years ago and it ran pretty well. I'll try to post some useful tuning info later today if I can get to my laptop.

Killer, thanks y'all. I guess I was really just hoping to get a known starting point. @sixshooter I'd appreciate any info you can share. I get the mechanics and I've done plenty of work with carburetor motors, but ECU tuning is new to me.

I came here from 60's musclecars, so I get it.

Here's some screen shots I'd saved previously of some of the tuning info. I think it's all MS1 stuff. Not going to upload the tunes because I was running some nonstandard configurations and don't want to have you blow up your engine by trying them.
