+12.5afr at 8 psi is way too lean. See most of ur scatter plot is well above 12afr just like ur log few posts back. Richen that bad boy up.

Travis, AFR targets are only used by MS in certain operational areas (where you've given permission -- almost never in boost) and only to a certain authority. AFR targets are also used by VEA/VEAL to tune your VE table. Tuning the VE table is an iterative process. Your VE table is out of tune right now. Better do some tuning, because you're going to hurt your engine with what you have now.

Bottom line, AFR table is a secondary control (maybe "suggestion" is a better word). Your engine runs off the VE table.

Ok. I thought my tune was pretty good. I use VEAL a couple times a month.

Attached are my tune and partial log from this morning, along with a scatter plot and some screen shots of VE and spark tables.

I understand the engine runs off the VE table. I thought VEAL used AFR targets to get the VE table.

Is my AFR target table off and that is making a bad VE table?

Between 100-125 kpa, most of the points are between 11.7 -13.2 AFR. Above 125kpa most are between 12.5-11.3 AFR. There are occasional single points that are higher, but I just took those to be random occurrences that are probably acceptable.

What should my goal numbers be?

Tthe afr table is basically a wish list however your engine runs off of the ve table. I dont know how veal tunes since i run adaptronic however there is a time period where it cannot tune the table in a couple of runs or whatever, it takes time, time that is dangerous and can hurt your engine. That is when you take matter into your own hands and increase the ve manually. I'm not sure if VEAL even tunes in boost.

Correct.

Your AFR table looks decent.

The concern is that the logged pulls from earlier (Post #60) were showing a pretty consistent ~12.5:1 in boost (i.e., does not match your AFR table). Additional VE tuning, concentrating in the boost areas, should fix this.

I think it is getting better. Check out the attachments below.

Each image has a yellow horizontal line at 12.5 AFR and a blue horizontal line at 10.5 AFR.

The first image is from a couple days ago. The last three are from this morning.

Attached is a comparison of my VE table from 5/28 and 5/30. I gave VEAL more authority and eased the cell change resistance from hard to normal.

I am having a boost spike issue much like you have here. It's on a godspeed 48 trim, trying to spike to 15 psi or so. Where did you buy the new actuator?

I bought it from BEGi. Link - 7 psi Turbo Actuator, 48009-9
