Default NewMSPNP user in need of help

hello guys i know this is a noob question, apologies. i really have been searching but cant find a proper answer or how to fix my issue. ( 95 Mazdamiata Begi S-kit with MSPNP and 350cc injectors) ive search and search but came into 2 answers.. With the Base map some people said its alright to run bigger injector without changing or telling the MSPNP about it, but some say you have to.so im Lost. my problem is Upon Start up with the OEM ecu car runs 14.7-15.6 AFR,idles smoothly and no issue, but with the MSPNP it runs 10-11.6 AFR.choking and dying having a hard time starting have to keep my foot on the gas to keep i running, and its running awfully rich. am i missing something that i need to adjust? apologies again for the noob question, ill keep on searching while i wait for your respond PS im using the stock MAF

Tune it. Base maps just get you going.

PNP is just a name that means you don't have to solder it. You must set all of the settings and tune all of the parameters including idle, AFR targets, TPS range, and others. Good luck.

I've been working on the starting thing myself with a worked over '94 and MSPNP2 myself.

Every morning, you need to go out and start the car with the laptop plugged while you watch the "idle PWM%" gauge. When you go to crank it, it'll jump to a percentage, usually in the 60-70 range. If it doesn't start (without touching the gas), increase the idle cranking duty/steps at that temperature until it does start easily.

This is after you nail your warm closed loop idle settings, and set your target CL idle RPM to ~1500-1700 cold. On the base map, it tapers down to a ~1000rpm, keep it like that. Technically miatas should idle at 850, but on this particular '94, with it's MC engine and diff mounts, it idles much smoother at 1050.

If it's rich and bogging because of that, you'll have to adjust WUE and ASE. Don't forget about cranking and priming pulse as well.

Mine does best with a 1050-1100 warm idle.

Those were generally a stock Miata... or they'd set up the ECU offline for parameters like injector size. Once you throw features like oversized injectors at it, you are out of the range that a standard MSPNP tune will work for.
