No Bluetooth Power from pin 9
Hey guys, please be patient with me as i am NOT very good at the ECU stuff at all.
I recently purchased the Bluetooth adapter from EFI Analytics (Cables and Adapters | tunerstudio.com) and when I went to go hook it up to my Megasquirt, it got no power and ended up hooking it up to a different power source. From my reading, the adapter should get power from PIN 9 on the Megasqurit (http://tunerstudio.com/index.php/sha...rs232bluetooth) but it seems that I am getting no such luck. Tuner Studio says I have a MS2 Extra Serial 310. Do I just need to ship to one of you amazing people who knows what the hell they are doing to fix this or am I just doing something wrong? Thanks in advance guys. |
forgot to mention, I did find this during my research before posting but I have no idea what it means :bang: mine is a Brain built:

Not all MS do, but there's a jumper on the DIYPNP units to send power to pin 9. There are some times when you may not want to power pin 9 though, so YMMV.

Yes, you have to connect the pins of the BL/TH jumper to send 5 volts to pin 9.
This is an old pic where I did NOT have the pins connected yet. Move the jumper over so the 2 pins are connected. |
Thanks for the fast reply!
Is this a jumper like back in old PATA hard drive days when there was a master and slave drive or do i need to solder crap. |
Like the old PATA drives/clear your CMOS on the motherboard, etc.

Apparently it's working now, nevermind
|
Oh, I thought you had a DIYPNP, saw you mentioned something about it in an earlier post.
Either way, glad it's working for ya. |
That looks like one of my very early units, not a Braineack unit.

what aaron posted looks like an early diypnp I assembled, what v0lcano posted looks like something reverant did :)
