Has anybody tried using the Racepak dash with more recent MS3 firmware? Is it confirmed non-functional?

Racepak has been very responsive both on their forums and over phone with fixing hardware problems with the IQ3 I bought used. Only cost to me was shipping.

Can the IQ3 compute fuel usage based on PW, injector size and fuel pressure?
Also why does all the cool shit cost as much as I paid for my car? |

Was there any update to this, or is alpha 1.11 the latest release that will work with the Racepack modules?

Update:
Alpha 1.11 running VVT, talking to IQ3 with VNET sensors and Smartwire. I lost track but I think we have something like 50 channels we can monitor on the laptop and 32 we can actively datalog at any time. |
Any news on the MS3's latest firmware?

Good bump of a year old thread.
I asked Emilio on m.net and he said it's good for the latest MS3 software. |
Guys -- Please email RacePak and put a bug in their ear. I asked them (like a year ago) if they would develop a module to interface with MS3 over CAN. That would ensure complete compatibility with any MS2 or MS3 regardless of firmware version. While they were receptive, I don't know if anything actually came from it. I suspect that if they felt demand, they would offer the support.
I honestly do not know if the RacePak module for MS2 is compatible with current MS3 firmware. It was compatible with older firmware versions, but we made some changes in serial protocols at some point, and that broke compatibility. I have not checked in a while. If I can find some time, I can test with our G2X. |

Not true, if the outpc structure changes, compatibility is broken.

Dmitris and Ben, let me know what we need that we don't already have. I can get it pushed through sooner than anyone here. As mentioned above, we're on MS3 alpha 1.11 and I think maybe 1.14, running fine. If there are distinct benefits from doing a CAN protocol MS interface module, then let's do it.
What alpha are you guys on for MS3 now? |

What alpha are you guys on for MS3 now? I think the best way to fix this is to set up the interface over CAN, so all data channels would be supported, no matter which processor (MS2 or MS3) and which firmware version is being used. Current release firmware version for MS3 is 1.1.2 http://www.msextra.com/doc/ms3/files...ease-1.1.2.zip There have been a lot of refinements and extra features added. You should upgrade, but I'm pretty sure it will break comms with your RacePak dash. |
OK, request is in for MS CAN interface module. I'll keep this thread updated as new info becomes available.

That IQ3 brought a tear to my eye. So sweet.

Well my IQ3 logger is on its way with oil temp and oil pressure sensors. Rest I am depending on the information out of the megasquirt. Let us know if the interface ends up working with MS3 and I will order the interface right away!
