Stalling with ms2
So I'm running a basemap from reverent. It was made for 650cc injectors so we rescaled to my 775cc.
Car starts ok, though sometimes it cranks for a while (if it's been sitting a few days) and then starts. Sometimes it will fire up and be fine, other times it fires up, goes to 2000rpm, then rpm slowly drops and it stalls. If I try to keep it alive with the pedal it feels like it's firing weird. When the car is driving around its fine. Good cruising, and I'm keeping out of boost until I'm tuned in a few weeks. However, once the engine gets warm and oil pressure drops down to its hot range, problems begin. I was on the highway for about 20 mins yesterday and it stalled at the next two lights I was at. When I depress the clutch, rpm drops by about. 300-400, sometimes stalling the car. Other times just getting into neutral the rpm drops too quickly and the car stalls (even the slightest touch of gas pedal when rpm is dropping keeps the car from stalling). This all gets worse once my 14" spal fan starts coming on. In an around town situation where my fan is on, and I'm coming to a stop at a light, it's almost guaranteed to die. It's not a violent stall, just as if someone turned the key off. If I'm standing at a light with the fan off and it comes on, it will also stall the car (only when it's warmed up). However if I force the fan on with the ac button, rpm increases like it should. Once I turn the ac off, rpm fluctuates up and down for a few seconds and then settles down. Someone suggested my injector dead time could be wrong (definitely is because FIC gives dead time at 12 and 14v but not 13.2). Any other ideas? I'm sure the tuner could work it out but I wouldn't mind fixing it myself since I still am breaking this motor in and just gently driving around to work and such. Thanks! |
Post a log. Sounds like your tune is weak in a number of areas. Post several logs and label them nicely. One cold cranking the car. One during warm up. One cruising and driving around and one on a hot restart after the car sits for 45 min.

Hot restarts are fine actually. Odd |
I'm experiencing the same issues or similar
Cruising and coasting to a stop while out of gear Cruising and coasting to a stop and downshift gears to a stop and it's out of gear for the last 10 felt or so I sometimes can take it out of gear and it keeps the gears idle high enough to keep driving without using the acceleration pedal Shuts off at a stop of the other symptoms do not effect the idle prior I have several logs of each issue in all 3.- I can send you the log |
Post it up. Dont pm it just post it here so we can all be in the same loop.

Anyone get to see the logs in post above this one?
|
Bump. Could someone take the time to look at my logs to see why it is I'm stalling at a stop light with ac on and or off

TS is only capturing 1 sample per 3-4 seconds, no way that log is going to show anything.
Downgrade to TS 2.0.8 and try again. |
okay. im using 3.4 on megalog.
It actually pops open and runs with several mins. So your asking me to install the previous Tuner studio software? I'm currently using version 2.6 |
I installed the beta 2.08 TS
I get a prompt opening up for 2 warnings, .msq "on" for parameter enable ps idle up is of a type that is not compatible with current firmware. This will be ignored, please correct manually Also the same exact prompt with ac idleup |
Don't worry about those. Just get some new datalogs.

here is the log
now a key point is the IAT sensor is taking engine ambient air and not the air coming into the intake because I am going to tap the sensor into the intercooler itself. |
That log still only shows 1 sample every 1 or 2 seconds or so, when it should be 20-25 samples per second. Check that the TunerStudio program bar (top section of the window) says TunerStudio MS 2.0.8.
If that is the case, check Communications -> Data Rate. It should be set to at least 20 samples per second. |
I'm running the beta version of 2.08. I can't find the full version.
Also I just clicked 20 samples per second. It was 15. I'll be doing another log later in the evening. |
Just use the current ver. I use the current ones and can log just fine. Just change your data rates. Shits slow as a mofo
|
I was just confused on why I had to go to a previous software. I'll up the rates on the current up to date

here is a higher communication rate of 25

Subbed...... Mine stalls a fair bit as well...related to voltage drop it seems as more accessories are being used. It's as if the alternator can't keep up...
